My brother is flying to the USA from Japan - help with bags.

Hey all! Sorry if this is a stupid question or the wrong sub.

My brother taught in Japan for the last 7 years and he’s coming home this Thursday. He flys from a Japanese airport into LAX to Houston.

I read online that he has to go through customs again, but his layover is only about 2 hours long. His company booked the flight so he’s unable to change it. Would that be enough time to go through customs and make his flight?

We called united but they weren’t very helpful and he doesn’t fly a lot, so we’re just not sure. Thank you in advance!
