Planning a cross-country road trip in the U.S. next summer, would camping in the southwest be a bad idea?

Hi all,

My friends and I are planning a road trip, starting and ending in Boston, that will bring us to all corners of the country. We will be arriving in the southwest in early June, and are thinking of camping for much of the trip.

As of now, we will be hitting a few spots in western TX, White Sands NM, Saguaro AZ, Grand Canyon AZ, and one near Yosemite. We’re going to camp all around the country, which I’m not worried about, but these areas in the southwest are a bit concerning for me. Does anyone know anything about these campsites, and if it is too hot to camp during June? Or, if you have any suggestions in the southwest that we should hit, let me know! Thanks in advance for the help.
