Lived in Egypt for four years..

I’ve been waiting for months to post this after reading all the negative comments (but couldn’t due to the government locking up foreigners who are critical of the country). My wife and I lived in Cairo Egypt for four years and it was horrible - I will never go back. We’ve lived in 6 countries now and travelled to over 30 and Egypt was the worst. The harassment she went through daily on the street was horrendous as a blonde woman. I’m our time there we had an Uber driver “show us” his pistol, power cuts multiple times per week, multiple car crashes, stray dogs chasing you if you go out running. We were in a 5 star hotel one night having drinks at the bar and they threatened to call the police when my wife kissed me on the cheek, the bartender went nuts. The trash around the city is on a different level - it’s everywhere and the smell of the city is horrible. Save yourself the hassle kids - go to somewhere in Europe instead - Paris, Vienna, Barcelona etc. stay away from Egypt -as tourist you will get harassed at all the tourist sites and it will ruin your trip. Go and enjoy a country where the place is normal with culture. Egypt doesn’t have culture, it only has trash and backwards mentality.
