Are in-flight medical emergencies becoming more common?

I was just traveling in Europe for a month and on all 3 of my flights (2 of them were 10+ hours) there was a medical emergency. One of them we had to reroute because of it. I’m not the most well traveled person, but I fly at least 3-4 times a year (including during the pandemic), and I’ve never once been on a plane with a medical emergency before. Was this just a weird coincidence? Or are there more medical events happening because of cov*d long term side effects (just speculating here)?
