Friend backed out of trip to London. Should I go solo?

My friend and I agreed to go to london in December for a week but she recently backed out as she is too busy. I still REALLY want to go - I haven’t booked flights or an Airbnb yet but I’ve been browsing and I really feel like it will be worth the money spent. I lived in london for 3 months as a student back in 2016 and haven’t been back since, but it’s truly one of my favorite cities.

I guess I’m just a bit apprehensive to travel solo as I’ve never traveled solo in Europe before. I did a solo trip to San Francisco earlier this year which I really enjoyed, but it wasn’t as scary because I will still in the US.

Should I go? Im single, 26 year old female and I want to travel while I’m not tied down with anything (besides my job, I’m planning to work remotely a few days), and hopefully meet people!! It would be lovely to even go on some dates and meet people. I don’t love dining alone as I feel awkward but I guess I’ll have to get over that.

I guess I also have fear that my friends and family will judge me for traveling alone, seeing as tho I couldn’t find any friends to go with me. How do I get over that?

Im thinking of staying in notting hill or marylebone - any advice there?
