What if I'm a little oversized with my luggage? Travelling overseas

Hello everyone,

I'm planning to travel to the Netherlands and I've had a hard time finding luggage that is specifically of the exact measurements of what the airline I'm travelling with is asking for. Usually they are a bit too big or too wide, because they include the measurements of the handles and wheels of the luggage..

My question is, what if I'm oversized a bit on my luggage? Around 1/2 cm to 2 cm on the check-in, would they charge me extra? If my carry-ons are around 5cm - 10cm over, would I also be charged extra?

I don't wanted to be charged for oversize. What experiences have you guys had?

I will be flying with KLM, but any input is greatly appreciated.
