Parents are doing a hiking trip in Chile / Patagonia soon. What are some good gifts to get for them for the trip?

My parents are pretty active people. Big hikers, snowshoers, canoers, etc. They're pretty easy going, down to earth people. Both late 50s, both physicians.

They've been planning this three week trip to Chile to hike the W trail.

I'm trying to think of something good and thoughtful to get them as a gift for their travels. Obviously I want it to be somewhat functional so they don't have to carry something big and heavy around with them just because they feel obliged to. Maybe a travel hammock? Some polaroid sunglasses? Something where, if you got it right before your big trip, you'd go "Huh. Very thoughtful. I'll get a lot of use out of this."

What do you guys think?

Thanks in advance!
