I'm planning a trip to Japan and have been struggling with planning restaurants to go to. Usually I'll just use a combination of Google, the Michelin Guide, and friends to find places to eat and this usually yields passable results. On my last trip to Italy, though, I botched the restaurant situation completely. I only ate at a couple restaurants that really wowed me, which bummed me out because Italian food is incredible. After that I realized how important it is to find good restaurants.
With Japan, I really want to make sure I do it right so I'm trying to find new ways to find good restaurants. I'd appreciate new perspectives on the matter, so if you have some great way to find good places to eat while traveling (especially places with a language barrier) please share them here. Thanks!
