Looking to get some advice from the knowledgeable and well-traveled redditors here.
My partner and I (M and F) are from the UK and looking to do a trip to Central America in January/February 2024.
Duration: 2.5 or 3 weeks.
We'd like to visit x 2 countries. Our priorities are experiencing wildlife and nature, doing some hiking/cultural activities, beaches. We like partying, but know that this isn't the key thing to visit Central America for (outside of Mexico). We are confident travellers and don't need to stick to super touristy areas.
We are deciding between Belize, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica (other ideas are welcome though!)
Our budget is flexible, we don't expect luxury but don't want to scrimp. We have decent enough salaries and have time to save.
Does anyone have any insights or advice on combinations of these wonderful countries that you have experienced, any pros and cons? Hugely grateful, thank you!
