Has traveling ruin domestic restaurants for you?

Last 10 years I have traveled to Europe and Asia multiple times. I find myself no longer having appetite to go to restaurants in the states because they pale in comparison to what I had abroad. In terms of taste, customer service, authenticity, and value. Like i cant eat dim sum anymore. HK was amazing. Cant eat ramen anymore. Japan $6 ramen is so much better than the $20 ramen here. Same goes for sushi. The cheap conveyor belt sushi is both cheaper and better than the $16 rolls you get here in the states. I just came back from Italy and the Florentine steak is the best steak i ever had. Don’t get me started on the pizzas. The paninis and the pici carbonara with the guanciale.

I have stopped getting cantonese and japanese food since my trips. I dont think i will order pizza anymore or go to any steakhouses in the near future.

Plus eating in the states is getting too expensive now. A french dip at a popular restaurant near me charges $28 for lunch. With tip and taxes. Thats $35!! I had a delicious porchetta panini in rome for $5.
