I have marooned myself in Asia. Need ideas of what to do next!

A little background - I've been travelling Asia since March. It's been great. However, I've got a trip booked to India in 8 weeks with other people & it now makes more sense for me to stay in Asia rather than fly back to Europe and back out to India again.

My problem is - I'm not really sure where to go or what to do now? I've essentially had my mind 'blown' as I've done so much and I'm a bit lost for ideas.

So far I travelled HK, Japan, S Korea, Vietnam (North & South, not central), Laos, Thailand (long time in Chiang Mai only), Taiwan and now Malaysia.

Ideally I want to keep costs down. I have considered just heading back to Chiang Mai for a couple months (my visa allows it) and just focusing on the gym and living a normalish life there as I fell in love with it.

However, part of me wonders if I'll look back and regret that I spent so much time in one place, living opposed to experiencing more.

The only other thing I really wanted to see was Angkor Wat just as I've heard so much, but I'm not massively interested in Cambodia (I went hard on rural stuff in Laos).

I will be checking on Bangkok and the local ruins, but my friend may be flying out to do that for a week or so.

Now I'm tossing up between heading to Chiang Mai and camping out, looking at Indonesia (although feeling pretty tired at the idea of it and think it kgiht cost a lot) and unsure of other options.

Things I do like are history, food, coffee. I enjoy nature, but have seen so much, but as with history it has to be very special at the moment for me to appreciate it. That's why Yogyakarta would be cool I guess. Beaches aren't my thing, but part of me feels like I should experience a paradise beach for the first time in my life like Railay or something.

Any ideas? Feel like I'm a bit marooned waiting to meet my friends and finish my trip in India.

A strange situation!
