An example of a silent airport would be is Dubai where there's no announcements at all, or Schiphol in the Netherlands. When I was at Brussels and Heathrow back in 2012, they weren't silent. We could hear announcements all the time. Personally I don't mind announcements but an advantage of announcements are if you are in a lounge especially, it helps you to not miss your flight.

Raleigh-Durham International airport wasn't silent when I went back in 2012, but I'm not sure if that has changed or not.

Kuala Lumpur International Airport is also a silent airport, it used to have announcements, but they made it silent.

I believe most to all American airports at this time are NOT silent, as you can still hear announcements. What's your guys's opinion on silent airports? Do you like them or do you find the announcements still useful?

I wish I can make a poll but I can't :(
