We are two foreigners who are in Uganda and primarily came for Nyege Nyege festival happening in Jinja, Uganda from 9th to 12th.
Yesterday US embassy in Uganda released the following alert
“Due to increased terrorist activity, U.S. Embassy Kampala recommends that individuals exercise an elevated degree of caution and reconsider attendance at upcoming large public gatherings, such as large-scale worship services and music and cultural festivals in Kampala and Jinja. Additionally, be mindful when visiting locations where people tend to gather such as hotels, malls, and marketplaces.”
We have booked tickets, apartments and everything because of this festival and this happened.
Similar alerts have posted in UK, Getman embassies.
We spent a lot, ofcourse our lives worth more than that.
We are just curious, how serious are these warnings!
