I’ve read a lot of posts about travel hacks for jet lag, but hoping to get a personalized answer.
I have a trip planned to South America next month (from California) where there will be a 5 hour time difference (with South America being 5 hours ahead). I’m already having anxiety because of the likely jet lag and second guessing entire trip. I’ve always been regimented about sleep as I’m a light sleeper and cannot operate on less than 6 hours of somewhat decent sleep. When I say I can’t operate, I mean no matter how many energy drinks I consume, I am a walking zombie.
What makes the jet lag even more anxiety inducing is that I’ll have to be on the go early in AM as I’ll be hiking, etc.
My flight leaves mid afternoon, 10 hour flight, and lands in South America at 6 AM.
I won’t be able to sleep on the flight (I never can) but will try even for a couple of hours or couple of naps. If I get some sleep on the flight, should I be ok when I land to start the clock anew?
I just don’t want sleep to ruin my one week trip. Plz help me!
