Booking.com FAKE VOUCHER scam

I booked a hotel stay via booking.com because they were offering an attractions voucher worth about 50 USD at the time.

When I tried to use the voucher it was not accepted as a payment method at ANY of the attractions, always returning an error.

I called support and after a lot of back and forth and none of their suggested solutions working, they tell me to book it with my card and they’ll refund it (instead of the voucher). I do as instructed, after which they do NOT refund and basically ghost me. I then cancel the booking myself and when i try to contact them again they say "we have now cancelled the booking at no cost to you", when in reality i am the one who cancelled it and it was only free becsuse it happened to be during the free cancellation window.

In the end, they were unable to either get the voucher to work or come up with any kind of solution, basically making the whole thing false advertising/a scam. If not for the voucher, I would have booked with the competitor I always use and never have any problems with.

What a worthless, lying company they are. I am never going back to using them even if it means paying more to a competitor.
