If you had the chance to see the most splendid natural scenery in America, and only a week to do it, where would you go/what would you see?
Topic seems self-explanatory, but to stay within the rules:
Budget: Doesn't exist; can be as costly as necessary.
Location: Needs to be drivable, needs to be anywhere in the United States. I don't want to fly, and would prefer to drive to the location.
Purpose: We're looking for something captivating; something that will literally take your breath away. I'd prefer it to be somewhere natural and semi-secluded. The closest description I can offer that I've experienced in my own life thus far was seeing Zhangjiajie a few years ago. The grand canyon came to mind here, but I've been there a few times.
Timeline: I want to go there for my birthday in a few weeks. This is a solitary trip; no wife, no kids. That'll mean preferably nowhere that the roads will be icy/snowy.
