Recently when I was flying AirAsia from Kuala Lumpur airport, they asked to charge me 30MYR for using the manned counter instead of kiosks for checkin. I’ve accepted budget airlines’ carryon requirements as normalities, but charging extra just for paid passengers to obtain boarding pass is just absurd. I later learned apparently this is somewhat common (?) for budget airlines worldwide? Where else have you encountered similar situation and with which airline?
