Booked a flight to Africa for August this year. Too early to cancel?

I’m 90% sure it’s a bad idea given so many unknowns to travel in this season. I’m willing to reschedule to the next year. However, there’s a part of me that thinks maybe it’s possible. What do you guys think? Wait to see how it goes? Or cut losses and cancel
