Hopper’s Cancel for Any Reason is awful

Booked a trip with hopper and had to cancel. I bought the cancel for any reason (CFAR) for $20 because I thought it was worth it. When buying it I was guaranteed 80% money back for the value of the ticket. I ended up canceling my flight, without any explanation given since it was under CFAR. Their support team is god awful. No phone number to contact. Only this messaging service on their app which is useless since you’re communicating with a robot. Waited over 2 months and I finally got my refund. I am writing this post because I was expecting credit back to my bank account of 80%. But instead, they gave me airline credit. What if I don’t want the airline credit? I bought the CFAR with the thought i would get 80% back of my ticket cost as a refund. The airline credit is useless since I now have to pay rebooking fees with the airline, and hopper told me AFTER I got my refund that the airline credit can’t be used on basic economy.

So now I have airline credit that expires in 1 year, and I have to pay rebooking fees, and I can not fly basic economy. I’m literally losing money for buying something that i thought would guarantee me 80% refund.

NEVER using Hopper again. You literally can’t get a hold of ANYONE.
